Wind instruments from the Stone Age to the present day

In this workshop there will be a short presentation of a variety of different traditional and historical European wind instruments. We will take a musical journey through time from bone flutes to horn flutes to various types of bagpipes to shawms and a variety of flutes. Get to know instruments such as the Hümmelchen, the Gemshorn, the Rauschpfeife and Sackpfeife. But also flutes such as the frscalettu from Sicily, the flejguta from Malta or the dwojnica from Poland and many more.

BIO

  • Timo Bark has been passionate about traditional and historical wind instruments since a young age. After studying systematic musicology in Hamburg/Germany, he turned his passion into a profession and teaches bagpipes and flutes on a freelance basis. Since 2021 he lives with his family in Cyprus.
