Captain Stambolov(FR)

An atypical orchestra from Lyon-France, Captain Stambolov reinvents the codes of the brass band and brings wherever it goes his famous Balkan turbo-futuristic recipe. Composed of seven musicians, the group with an endless energy shares its fascination for traditional and contemporary cultures. The result on stage is a unique music, a surge of sounds and movement, in which the body and the soul come together through dance.

For Captain Stambolov, each concert is an opportunity to merge rebetiko, Ethiopian groove, Bulgarian dances, but also techno, Balkan rhythms and more. Under the guidance of a tireless speaker, following carefully arranged choreographies, the crowds join the group for a transcendental journey.

In April 2023 the group's third album “The Balkan Theory” was released, in which influences Bulgarian and Greek merge in a brass and electric universe.
